Tired of lugging around your full-sized DSLR around? Samsung hears your groans and on June 4th it’s hosting a Ditch Day event at New York City‘s Times Square, letting everyone trade in their bulky mirror flipping camera for a mirrorless one. The free event is being held next week from 12PM to 6PM and it will let everyone try out Samsung’s full line of cameras from the Galaxy Camera 2, NX Mini, NX30, and NX3000.
Samsung hopes to showcase what its mirrorless cameras can with a set of slot cars racing down a speedway. Photographers can also partake in high-resolution selfies with the NX Mini and panoramic shots to create wide, sweeping images of Times Square.
Visitors so taken aback by the quality of Samsung’s mirrorless cameras will even be able to trade in their DSLRs for a new Samsung NX30 camera coupled with the 18-55mm 3.5-5.6 OIS lens. Additionally attendees could receive a $50 rebate towards the purchase of a Samsung NX camera when they pledge to #DitchtheDSLR on Twitter.
Interesting, huh?
