Rumor had it that Samyang, also known as Rokinon in the US, would have something to announce today. Many speculated that the lens manufacturer would finally introduce autofocus lenses, but the truth couldn’t be further from that. Today’s main announcement is a new 12mm f2 ultra wide-angle lens for mirrorless cameras, plus some updates on older lenses. For details, head past the break.

They can be pre-ordered from B&H Photo, at retail prices of US-$ 349 for the f/2.8 version and US-$ 399 for the T3.1 version.
Samyang 10mm f2.8Â ED AS NCS SC
We first reported about this lens back in December, but had little details on it then. The full specs for this lens, which will be available for both mirrorless and DSLR cameras, reads as follows:
- Equivalent focal length: 15mm (APS-C) / 20mm (MFT)
- Aperture range: f2.8-22
- 6 aperture blades
- 14 lens elements in 10 groups
- 2 aspherical elements, 1 ED glass element
- Size (D x L): 3.39″ x 3.03″ (86mm x 77mm)
- Weight: 1.28 lb (580 g)
- No filter thread
The Samyang 10mm f2.8 ED AS NCS SC is available for pre-order at B&H Photo, at a retail price of US-$ 529.
Micro Four Thirds and E-Mount Versions of Older Lenses
In addition to all of the above, Samyang has announced new Micro Four Thirds and E-Mount versions of some of its older lenses. These are:
- Samyang 14mm T3.1 Cine (MFT)
- Samyang 24mm f1.4 (MFT and E-mount)
- Samyang 24mm T1.4 Cine (MFT)
- Samyang 35mm f1.4 (MFT and E-mount)
- Samyang 35mm T1.4 Cine (MFT)
- Samyang 85mm T1.5 Cine (MFT)
While the 24mm and 35mm lenses don’t make a lot of sense on Micro Four Thirds with its 2x crop factor, they are great additions to the E-mount lens lineup as they can be used with the full-frame Alpha 7 and Alpha 7R mirrorless cameras. The cine lenses, on the other hand, may find a liking with videographers using the Panasonic GH4 4K camera.
These lenses as well will be available later this month, and can be pre-ordered at B&H Photo. They come in at US-$ 349 for the 85mm T1.5, US-$ 449 Â for the 14mm T3.1, US-$ 499 for the 35mm f1.4, US-$ 549 Â for the 24mm f1.4 and the 35mm T1.5, and US-$ 749 for the 24mm T1.5.
