So how do you possibly find a way to appeal to the Japanese and the Americans with way too much money to burn? You team up with Playboy and Hello Kitty of course! That’s what Leica has seemingly done with their new special edition C digital camera. The camera is designed to celebrate Hello Kitty’s 40th and Playboy’s 60th Anniversaries. And it’s a super Limited Edition–we’re talking about 10 pieces.
Spec wise, this lil’ shooter has a 12.1MP 1/1.7″ MOS Sensor, Leica DC Vario-Summicron f/2-5.9 Lens, 7x Optical Zoom, 28-200mm, 3.0″ TFT LCD with 921k-dot Resolution, 200k-dot Color LCD Viewfinder, Wi-Fi with NFC & Leica C Image Shuttle and comes with Adobe Lightroom 5.
All this for only $1,266–more expensive than my monthly share of rent. Personally, we think that Leica’s X10 is a much better purchase.
For a much less amount, you can probably purchase a Panasonic camera, a Leica badge, Hello Kitty and Playboy stickers, and DIY the camera yourself for much less.
