According to a new source speaking with Fuji Rumors, Fujifilm will introduce a new XF 120-400mm super zoom to its lens lineup. Other than saying the lens will exist there arenât any other details including the aperture, so weâre taking this news with the tinniest grains of salt. But looking at the Japanese camera companyâs lens roadmap it makes sense sitting alongside the Fujifilm XF 55-200mm F3.5-4.8 R LM OIS.
With the announcement of the professional shooter targeted Fujifilm X-T1 we already know there are three weather-resistant zoom lenses in the pipe. Among these toughened lenses we will see a new XF 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 R OIS WR, XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R OIS WR, and the XF 50-140mm f/2.8 R OIS WR launching at different times this year. A XF 120-400mm might seem like an odd move for Fujifilm at first glance, but it seems the company is looking to cater to more pro-shooters.
