Ready for our third contest for the holidays? If you’re not a Facebook user, you’ll want to pay attention. We’re teaming up with the folks over at Peak Design for some awesome prizes targeted at the outdoor photography folks.

And it’s super simple to win. Hit the jump for the rules. Also be sure to check out Peak Design’s other giveaway.

– This contest is open to anyone in the world of any age

– Show us your best single original photo (one entry per user) of the great outdoors. You can host it on Twitter, Flickr, 500px, a link to your website, it really doesn’t matter to us.

– Tweet it at us (@phoblographer) and Peak Design (@peakdesignltd) with the hashtag #thegreatoutdoorsphotocontest. Be sure that you’re following both of us or your entry will be disqualified. 

Also note that there is one entry per user.

Today, for some odd reason, the Nikon P1000 point and shoot camera is being announced. Odd, you ask? The fact that it is a point and shoot isn’t such a big issue at all; but the fact that it’s a superzoom camera being marketed as one with a 125x optical zoom is what’s insane. Kudos to Nikon for being able to do something like this; but then you read the fine print (or in this case, print that’s not even in the press release) and see the bait and switch–this Nikkor lens is having its potential wasted by being placed in front of a 1/2.3 inch sensor.
