When BlackMagic announced the Pocket Cinema Camera a while back, folks were very pleased that they could have an affordable camera that shoots RAW video and has loads of capabilities. Today, Switronix is announcing a brand new power solution to keep indie filmmakers shooting for longer periods of time. The company has released PocketBase batteries before, but now there is one available for the Pocket Cam. It works by storing two LP-E6 batteries and connecting to the camera via a cable.
To stay in place, it includes a 1/4 20 tripod screw to go into the bottom of the camera. The overall package is said to weigh less than a pound when not connected.
No official word on pricing yet, but Switronix’s products are usually very affordable.UPDATE: it will MSRP for $105 while the PocketBase kit will be $155.
