If you’re a discerning young male, chances are that you’re subscribed to the UrbanDaddy newsletter. It’s entertaining, and in a case like this, it’s completely ridiculous. In an email to their New York mailing list, the company today let folks know about an impossible deal. If you want to purchase the new Hasselblad Stellar camera, you can get your silver-spoon holding hands on one for $2,100. To catch you all up to speed, the Stellar is the Sony RX100 with a big H and some rare wood that has contributed to deforestation in some way. Meanwhile, the RX100 goes for $748 on Amazon at the time of writing this post.
Now here’s the even better part: the Stellar site lists US retailers carrying the camera such as Willoughby’s. And their listing has the camera at $1,995.
Still want the camera? Besides your own selection of a rare wood for the grip, the camera houses a 1 inch camera sensor–the same size a the Nikon 1 series. It delivers some damned good image quality for a point and shoot of this size.
But for what it’s worth, you’re better off purchasing an RX100 and finding a Leica logo then gluing it on.
