If super huge panoramic images are your bag, then the latest news about Gigapan and Promote Systems should provide a great deal of happiness. You can now use Gigapan’s Epic Pro motorized pano head and Promote Systems Promote Control to take HDR and focus stacked gigapixel panoramas. The Epic Pro handles the panorama while the Promote Control takes care of the HDR. The Promote Control can take up to 45 photos in bracketing with up to 9 EV steps between each one, and it also features focus stacking which takes photos at close and distant focal ranges, perfect for landscapes. This is only for Canon and Nikon DSLRs, so you’re out of luck if you’re not a part of these systems.
