As of yesterday, Fujifilm released a bad ass new firmware update that improved its X Pro 1 and X-E1 cameras as well as its lenses. The updates have been coming in for a while now, and we believed that it was time to reassess our findings. And so, we’ve updated a lot of our major posts about the camera.
– The Fujifilm X Pro 1 Review: This camera has now been awarded our Editor’s Choice award for being the best damn mirrorless camera that you can get your hands on right now. Myself, Features Editor Abram Goglanian, Contributor Mike Pouliot and former Reviews Editor Andy Hendrikson all swear by the system now. If four editors isn’t enough for you, we’re not sure what is.
– The Fujifilm 35mm f1.4 X Review: This lens has also received major focusing boosts. It already had awesome image quality, but now there is even more reason to spring for it.
– Extended Use with the OMD and X Pro 1: The X Pro 1 has improved a hell of a lot, but in some ways the OMD can still best it. But when it comes to low light focusing, it doesn’t suck so hard anymore.
– Long Term Comparison Review: NEX 7 vs OMD vs X Pro 1: Our winner of this battle is now the Fujifilm X Pro 1 due to the company’s commitment to helping its customers and improving its products. Olympus and Sony haven’t done this as much, and the OMD would have clearly won this if the company would just put focus peaking in the camera. But Fujifilm has done it, and its beautiful.
