According to a report from Gizmodo via the Verge, Instagrammers were able to experience the power of the force first hand via Instagram. That’s right; someone broke Star Wars up into hundreds of little clips and uploaded them to Instagram. The user was called Star Wars Movies, but the account is now defunct.
Instagram’s TOS emphasizes that you should upload only your own work, but in some ways this could probably have gotten away due to fair use laws–the clips were surely short enough considering that Instagram’s limit is 15 seconds of video footage. The uploader was also doing this in reverse chronological order so that someone could start from the top and get all the way to the bottom.
Insane, huh? That’s a heck of a lot of work. Too bad it’s gone now.
