Visual Supply Company is famous for delivering the extremely film-like image renderings that you may have seen in various wedding and portrait photos in modern days. They recently released their third film pack for photo editors, which includes loads of instant film renderings (and which we’re in the process of reviewing.) But today, they’re announcing something for their mobile platform. They already have VSCO Cam, and now they’re introducing a new addition to the app: VSCO Grid.
Grid, which they’re saying is not an Instagram competitor or a social network, is simply a way to discover images and be inspired by other VSCO users. As it is, there is no way to comment, like, reblog or interact with the photos. They’re instead saying that Grid is focused on craft, curation, and content. It is initially going to be open to a small batch to creators, but more will come later on. As was previous, the app is still only available for iPhone users.
Even more confusing though is the advertising video that they did for it. While it is beautiful, it doesn’t tell us much about the app. You can spy the video after the jump.
Dear VSCO: please note that Android users are creators too. K thanks.
