Mark Laita’s Created Equal Series Represents People Across the US

Mark Laita is a photographer whose recent, “Created Equal” project shows stark differences across different people. The country is comprised of folks from all walks of life and were carefully curated by Mark as he travelled the nation looking for the subjects. “I simply went to all areas of the U.S. and tried to find individuals that represented their region or culture best,” stated Mark when we asked him about the subjects he chose. He has turned the series into a book, which is described as exposing all the truths without the airbrushing.

When asked about the inspiration for the project, Mark stated, “I love characters and different cultures and portraits are such a great way to study people. I guess I was looking to make a photographic, anthromorphological collection of Americans.”

Review: Yashica Y35 (The Camera for a Digital Photographer to Step Up to Film With)

I purposely have taken my time reviewing the Yashica Y35 to figure out if it’s really as bad an awful of a camera as some folks are making it out to be. For the uninitiated, the Yashica Y35 is a camera that was funded and created off of Kickstarter. This isn’t the original Yashica, but instead a Hong Kong company who took it over and decided to create something fundamentally different from most other cameras out there. To emulate the look, feel, and experience of film cameras the company created a camera that doesn’t have a back LCD screen and that requires you to buy film packs to get a different look. Then you plug your SD card into the camera and get the images. On top of that, you’ll need to shoot then advance the film lever, and only then can you shoot again.

Long Nguyen Pushed Himself to Take “Epic” Landscape Photos

Photographer Long Nguyen is a financial accountant during the day who turns into a sun seeking photographer at sunrise and sunset–or at least that’s what he says about himself. “Currently I live in Seattle, Washington that provides me opportunities explore numerous areas of this ‘evergreen state’ and in addition to other beautiful places around the world.” he continues. Long is a previous winner of Outdoor Photographer’s American Landscape photography contest, and is always amazed at what nature gives him. Whether it’s the first light from mountains, Long says that he’s much more of a creative photographer than a technical one.
