At first glance it appears to be like every other stabilizer but this guy has a trick up its sleeve. The stabilizer has been dubbed the Supraflux and it has a feature that they call “The Brake”. If you have ever used a stabilizer then you would know when the camera turns it seems to have a mind of it’s own. This practice takes time to master and by master I mean learn to go with the flow. Essentially the brake feature allows you to pull a lever that allows you to freeze the cameras direction. The brake locks only the vertical axis but does so electronically. How does this work? I actually have no idea but in use all you have to do is pull a lever on the grip, that’s it.
Unlike the Picosteady (which we reviewed) the Supraflux can support cameras that weight .25lbs all the way up to 10lbs. The stabilizer weighs in 3.25lbs and can be as short as 15″ in its shortest configuration. The first 100 people will be able to snag it for $495 and all the slow pokes will be shelling out $595 for those sloths out there.
