M.I.C. Gadget has introduced a new card reader for iPad users that reads not only from SD card and USB, but also supports microSD and CF cards. This sets it apart from both Apple’s own Camera Connection Kit as well as many third party offerings. Previously, M.I.C. had already offered a CF card reader for the iPad. With this new gadget, you can now import files from most cameras on the market — be they cellphones, compact point-and-shoots or full-frame SLRs. And if your camera uses the outdated xD card or the new XQD format, you can still connect it via the USB port. Read more after the jump.
The all-in-one new card reader supports the iPad 3 and iOS 5.1, but works with first and second generation iPads as well. As a new feature, the all-in-one car reader is compatible with CF cards up to 600x speed and SD cards up to Class 10. According to the product description, M.I.C. have been able to overcome the iPad’s voltage limit, so their new all-in-one card reader now works with these high-speed memory cards which normally have higher power requirement than the iPad supports. If your memory cards requires even more juice, the all-in-one car reader sports a power input port to connect with an external power source.
