Lexar is speeding up the storage game with a new line of CFast memory cards. The company says that these cards have read transfer speeds up to 3333x, which translates roughly to 500MB/sec, and is three times faster than the fastest CF cards currently availalbe. There are four sizes of these cards: 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB, but there isn’t any word on pricing or availability yet.
Alongside these cards, Lexar has a card reader for it that is designed to work with its Professional Workflow Reader Solution, a tiered four-way card reader that streamlines the transfer of media from cards to computer.
The CFast cards also come with Image Rescue software, which will prevent major headaches when you’ve accidentally hit the delete button. When they’re released, these cards will be a substantial asset for videographers and wedding photographers alike.
