A while ago, we reviewed the Sigma 35mm f1.4 EX for Canon. Today, DxOMark has published their own findings on the lens but in the Nikon mount flavor. Their readings and chart tests (which are all done in labs) state that this is the sharpest 35mm lens out there. Their major comparison is against Canon, Nikon, Samyang/Rokinon, and Zeiss. We did a real-world test against the Canon 35mm f1.4 in our real world review and also found similar findings. To be fair though, this lens will do excellently on the Nikon D800 due to just how many megapixels they crammed onto the sensor.
The Sigma 35mm f1.4 EX is available for purchase from Amazon or rent from Borrow Lenses. I’ve been in love with mine since my first impressions; and it has been creating the mainstay of most of my recent work.
