Travel photographers need a camera that they can truly rely on. The company has created multiple offerings, ranging from entry-level cameras to higher-end full frame, each offering something unique to their users. If you are someone who is still looking for a Canon camera for travel use, then these three offerings are a good start.
Canon R5

The first of the iterations, the Canon R5 is a fantastic full frame camera designed for professional photographers. It comes with a 45MP sensor, DIGIC X processor, and 1,053 AF areas. The device has an exceptional build quality, with the camera withstanding any harsh conditions outdoors. As we added in our review, “We’re very impressed with what the Canon EOS R5 can do in a situation like this. And compared to the Sony A1, it performs pretty much just as well. Arguably, the Canon system gives you more control than Sony’s does.” Along with 8K videos, the camera does not heat up when shooting videos. The photographs are fantastic, and editing RAW files allows you to retain the details in highlights and shadows. The color depth is just as good, and with the right lens, you get the best results. The camera has won our Editor’s Choice Award for these reasons.
Canon R6
An entry-level camera, the EOS R6 is also the first iteration of a great series. It houses a 20MP sensor, 6,072 AF points, and an 8-stops of image stabilization. The R6 offers perfect ergonomics, a good build quality, and the autofocus is quite accurate and fast, just like Sony’s. This means if you are photographing people or birds or vehicles, the camera will be able to track you with ease. The full frame device also offers fantastic photos. As we added in our review, the R6 offers “gorgeous colors, there’s plenty of detail in the pictures for almost all but the hardiest of pixel peepers, dynamic range is excellent, and high ISO performance is exceptional.” The RAW files further make life easy, allowing one to recover highlights and shadows with ease.
Canon R7

Canon’s APS-C range is pretty fantastic. The Canon R7 is a powerful offering, featuring a 32MP sensor, 7-stop image stabilization, and continuous shooting of 30fps. The device offers in-camera multiple exposure with JPEGs, and also sturdy weather sealing. The sensor is safe since the shutter comes down to protect it. The camera’s focusing system is speedy, can track people and animals well, and the menu is easy to navigate. As for the photos, the RAW files are fantastic in good light, and the JPEGs also offer colorful results that need less editing. High ISO results are much better with JPEGs, making it easy for those who like shooting after sundown.
