Landscape photography not only showcases the wonder of the world but also serves as a document of the untouched earth before we lose it to rapid urbanisation. With photographers such as Ansel Adams and Michael Kenna having created some spellbinding works that interest many aspiring creators, there is also another thing that one needs to get right: a good camera. Today, we bring to you a few offerings from Canon and how they can help you shoot like the masters.
Canon 5Ds

The Canon 5Ds is one of the high megapixel cameras, offering a whopping 50MP full frame sensor. The design is similar to the 5D Mark III, with multiple buttons and controls to make your journey easier. There is also a nice weather sealing, and it’s built “makes it a workhorse that many landscape photographers will be able to trust.” Image quality is one of the reasons a photographer might choose this. The resolutions help you capture a lot of detail, and they also give you just enough to crop without losing resolution. With the RAW files, you also get a chance to see how deep the colors can be tweaked in the channels individually. At high ISO, the results are clean, which is something one doesn’t expect from a 50MP camera. Like the images, the autofocusing abilities are pretty great as well.
Canon 5D Mk IV

The Canon 5D Mk IV is a 30MP camera with a DIGIC 6+ processor, Dual Pixel CMOS AF, and more. A DSLR offers a nice grip, multi-purpose buttons, and an LCD to work with. The camera boasts a rugged build, a must for outdoor photographers, and can withstand challenging weather, including rain. The device has a flawless autofocus system that performs best after calibration. “In extremely low light situations, the hit rate is simply astounding. Very few Nikon cameras can keep up like this,” we added about its performance. The images, too, are amazing. The dynamic range is great, the detail rendition is superb, and you also get a chance to get good high ISO results.
For those who don’t know, it’s also basically the same sensor in the Canon EOS R. And no one can deny how good that camera still is.
Canon R5 II

The R5 II is taking the company’s 5D series to a new height. With a 45MP sensor, the camera also offers faster autofocus and Eye Control Autofocus. With the new update, the device can now focus on people of color, which was not possible before. But the best part is the image quality, which allows you to “pull a lot of information from the shadows and highlights when editing.” The high ISO and RAW files are nice, and as good as the R5. This means you get weather sealing, dynamic range, and color that can be helpful.
