The year 2019 was really wild. One could say it was the peak era for many companies before the pandemic hit us. While many excellent devices were launched that year, only three managed to hold our attention, unlike any other. Some of these cameras were innovative and spectacular, and they proved how much attention manufacturers were giving to each of them. So, without further ado, here is a look at the best offerings to get your hands on even today.
The Best Medium Format Camera: Fujifilm GFX 50R

The Fujifilm GFX 50R is a camera designed for outdoor use. It has excellent weather sealing (look at the image) and offers some spectacular images. This camera also makes us feel like Fujifilm is trying to change for the better. The camera features a 51MP sensor, and is capble of shooting a burst of 3 fps. There is also ISO up to 102,400, 425 AF points, and can shoot full HD videos at 30p. Some of the things you can expect from the GFX 50R is outstanding image quality, great output of images at higher ISOs, and the autofocus is pretty good, too. The camera is lightweight, making it easy to carry around, and the ergnmics are designed well, so you can make spectucalr images with ease. As we said in our review, “Combine this with the Fujifilm Film simulations and you’re bound to get colors and a look that is not only unique to the company’s offerings, but also gorgeous overall.”
The Best Full Frame Camera: Sony a7r IV

The Sony A7R IV is quite a beast. The camera featured the world’s first 61MP full-frame back-illuminated Exmor R sensor, a 15-stop dynamic range, and ISO range between 50 to 102,4005. You also get 10fps of cintinous shooting, 567 phase-detection AF points, as well as Real-time Tracking and Real-time Eye AF for human, animal and movie. The device offers much improved ergonmics from the prevdessor, has blazing fast autofocus, and an exelelt weater sealing. The imae quality is sharp, has plenty of details, and the JPEGs out of the camera are just as exceptional. Files up to ISO 6,400 are clean and crispy, but if you push past it, it gets very noisy. As we said in the review, “The combination of 61 megapixels with 15 stops of dynamic range means the RAW files produced by the Sony A7R IV will give you a lot of information to work with during post-processing.”
The Best APS-C Camera: Fujifilm X Pro 3

The Fujifilm X-Pro 3 is another versitile entry for APS-C shooters, who want to makes but without having to spend hours on the eidting table. The camera houses a 26MP X Trans sensor, can record 4K videos, and has ISO between 160-12,800 (standard). You also get film simukation modes, which allows you to get the best photographs in-camera. There is also a hidden 1.62 millions dots hidden LCD, which is a boon for street photographers. The autofucs can be fined tune for different scenarios, yand the face detection of the camera is fanatstic. Most people will rely on JPEGS becayse they give so much details and you get better detaisl in the shadows. The camera also embraces higher ISO, which is another boon for most photographers. The battery life is just as exciting.
