Still shooting film? Get your projects ready, as you might snag one of the three Kodak grants by Film Photo Award.
Attention, film photographers! If you’re planning to shoot a body of work entirely on film or already have an ongoing project, now would be a great time to get it going. Film Photo Award has prepared three distinct grants of Kodak Professional Film to emerging, established, and student photographers across the globe. If you’re one of these talented individuals who are committed to continue further the craft of film-based photography today, you might want to give this a shot.
Made possible through the backing of Kodak Alaris, the Film Photo Award was established in recognition of film photography as a unique medium, as well as the efforts of film photographers who use it for their artistic expression. Three distinct awards will grant proposed projects by with Kodak Professional Films: New Project Award, Continuing Project Award, and Student Project Award. All awards are open to photographers 18 years old and above worldwide.
The New Project Award is designed for photographers who want to start a new film photography project. The Continuing Project Award aims to help photographers continue their existing film photography projects. The Student Project Award is open to students who want to begin or continue their film photography projects. They must be currently enrolled at an institution of higher education, but are not required to be studying photography to make a submission. A submission fee of $35 for non-students and $25 for students is required.
All applicants will get to choose from some of the most popular Kodak Professional Films (Portra 160, Portra 400, Ektar 100, Tri-X 400/320, T-Max 100, or T-Max 400) in their preferred film format (35mm, 120, or 4×5). The Film Photo Award runs two award cycles per year. Submissions for the first award cycle is now open and will close on March 31. The award recipients for this award cycle will be announced on April 19, 2019. Visit the Film Photo Award website to find out more about the grants and make your submission.
