Fujifilm is absolutely killing it according to National Geographic
It is that time of the year folks. The time when every website that talks about anything ranks the top things they had to look at over the last year. We have our own similar posts coming, but today we wanted to highlight something for those of you looking for a solid camera for your travels.
National Geographic recently ranked their Top 10 Compact Cameras for Travelers and notably, Fujifilm led the rankings with three cameras in the top 10. In fact, the Fujifilm X-T2 was the top overall recommendation for the ‘traveler who wants the best model overall.’ It is hard to argue against the combination of Fujinon lenses and X-Trans Sensors.
Also on the list for Fujifilm at number six was the always popular [amazon_textlink asin=’B01MUA5JGO’ text=’X100F’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’thephobl-20′ marketplace=’US’ link_id=’b363f0af-ce31-11e7-81c1-3d9cb6108e80′], which on its own may be deemed a little limiting to some photographers wanting to shoot while traveling. But on the plus side, if you invest in the two conversion lenses then you can actually have a pretty solid miniature prime lens loadout that won’t even take up much more room than a phone and add-on lenses.
Finally, as far as Fujifilm’s contributions to the list go, at number 11, the final entry on the list was the little brother to the X-T2, the [amazon_textlink asin=’B01N10DKLK’ text=’X-T20′ template=’ProductLink’ store=’thephobl-20′ marketplace=’US’ link_id=’c4e04187-ce31-11e7-a5f9-d71b5f95944a’]. This makes a lot of sense; 90% of the X-T2 capabilities with 100% of the image quality for about half the price while also being even more compact. The devil in the details is the non-weather sealed body though, which means you have to be careful while out in wet weather. But otherwise, that is a really solid option as well.
