Outdoor photographers often require a camera that can withstand wear and tear. It is, thus, no longer about how good photos it can capture but also how long it can last. With some cameras offering better design and longevity than others, today we take a look at some that are absolutely the standard in the industry.
Canon EOS R5 II

Since Canon stepped into the world of mirrorless cameras, the company has been consistently trying to better themselves. The R5 II is a result of that, which not only offers more megapixels (45MP), but features that help hybrid users. Along with the new Eye Control Autofocus, 8.5 Stops of image stabilization, and pre-capture, the camera is just as durable as the previous iteration. This means that if you are shooting in colder regions or in dusty areas and drizzles, you won’t be disappointed. Pair it with Canon’s L series lenses and you have yourself a winner.
Nikon z8

The Nikon Z8 is a result for those who wanted a smaller camera with the same features as the Z9. It has a 45MP sensor, continuous shooting of up to 120fps, and multiple features for portrait mode. The top panel looks like Z9 but the buttons on the camera are slightly raised. The camera is also small, lightweight, and can make a great package with prime lenses. The weather sealing is solid, and it is ideal for landscape and environmental work. You can also rely on telephoto lenses if you are into shooting wildlife.
Panasonic S1r II

The last one on the least is a Panasonic entry. The company has truly enhanced its cameras and the S1R II is a result of that. Packed with features such as a 44MP sensor, a Leica 2 engine, 779 AF points, multiple exposure modes, and real-time LUT, amongst others. The device has textured dials, the shutter comes down to protect the sensor, and it has a simple design. As for its weather resistance, we said in our review, “On top of all this, it’s weather resistant. The brand reps told us that it was in Norway for a while with some folks (a paid trip, most likely) and it was raining the entire time. The camera survived.” In addition, the long lineup of lenses can only make things better for those shooting outdoors.
