Leica has some exceptional cameras for professionals and serious enthusiasts. While they are more expensive than most offerings, the company has already worked around smaller and slightly more cost-effective point and shoots for those who want to own a Leica. If you are one such person, then these devices stand out amongst the rest.
Leica X1

The Leica X1 is a point and shoot that comes with a 12MP APS-C camera, a 35mm f2.8 lens, ISO up to 3200, and weighs 306g. The image quality of the device is amazing, and the RAW files are flexible. You also get enough room to edit the photos in Lightroom. While the images are great, the X1 is also a stylish camera to work with. It looks like a film camera, and overall, is the best option for those who want to travel light. In fact, as we added, “You look like you are using a regular point and shoot and the shutter is so quiet no one will ever know if you actually took a photo.” Moreover, it is a compact camera designed for those who do not mind slowing down.
Leica D-Lux 6

The DLUX 6 is a point and shoot introduced in 2013, with a 1/1.7-inch sensor and a 24-90mm zoom lens. The camera has an in-built flash, a compact build, and a lens with an aperture ring. While the LCD can be deciding for the images, it is better to check them when you reach home. In fact, the performance of the autofocus and the image quality was impressive. As we said in our review, “The AF worked in nearly all instances, and rendered some very sharp images. I was pleasantly surprised when I loaded the images onto my Mac.” There is a macro mode for those who want to shoot subjects up close. The point and shoot is designed for artists who want to focus on their images, as well as travelers who do not wish to rely on their phones.
Leica DLUX 8

The DLUX 8 is a more recent point and shoot introduced by the company. A 4/3 camera with a 17MP sensor, the DLUX 8 houses a 24-75mm lens, leaf shutter, and a 3-inch TFT LCD. The company has all the functions around the lens, which makes it easy to work with. The battery life is better than most devices, and the autofocus is “similar to the Leica SL2s.” In other words, you will adore the speed. The leaf shutter allows high-speed sync and the photographs turn out well, thanks to the RAW files. However, you must avoid shooting at high ISOs, as that can result in noisy images.
