A good viewfinder is a must for many photographers. It not only helps you see the shot away from the glare of the LCD screen, but also helps you become a better photographer if you just wish to stick to it instead of the LCD. Photographers with vision issues also rely on a viewfinder to help them get a brilliant shot against the odds. So, here are some cameras that offer really nice viewfinders for your needs.
Nikon Z9

The Nikon Z9 is an innovative camera for many reasons, but it shines most in the viewfinder. It offers a 3,690,000-dot resolution, with 0.8x magnification. As we also said in our review, “Best of all, though, is the fact that you can do nearly everything without removing your eye from the viewfinder.” In addition, you also get a rugged body, a lack of rolling shutter, and an autofocus that can even track people of color with ease. The camera is built like a tank, which means photojournalists, street, wedding, and documentary photographers will love taking it out into challenging situations. The RAW files are versatile, but the best part is high ISO images, which are quite clean. Overall, the camera is your true companion in every way.
Canon R5

The Canon R5 may be old, but it is still an important camera from the company. It offers a 0.5-inch 5.76-million-dot OLED EVF with a 120fps refresh rate and Dual Pixel CMOS AF. The device is quite well built, and it even withstood the rain with ease. What was great was the autofocus performance, which was incredible. As we said, “It’s fast to focus and track subjects no matter what. Surely, it will sometimes lose focus on them. When this happened, we usually were shooting with a lens wide open at f1.4 or f1.2. It never happened when stopped down.” With updates, we also received bird AF, making the R5 a capable birding camera. The image quality is nice, the colors are great, and photos shot above ISO 12,800 look like a Canon 5D Mk II.
Sony A7R V

The Sony a7R V is one of the best cameras, featuring a 61MP sensor and a 9.44-million-dot QXGA EVF with a 120fps refresh rate. As we said in our review, “The viewfinder, which is still one of the best in the world, makes it difficult for you to sometimes figure out which face is being detected.” This makes the camera ideal for professional photographers. Like the EVF, the autofocus is quick, accurate, and can track humans, vehicles, animals, and birds with ease. In fact, we barely missed a shot. There is also a rugged build, vibrant image quality, and plenty of details to work with. The 10 fps burst rate also makes the camera ideal for wildlife, wedding, fashion, documentary, and street photography, among others.
