Full frame lenses are plenty in number, but then there are some models that have outdone the others. Today, we look at a few lenses that have been exceptional in many ways. Despite being launched in 2016, they remain the perfect balance of performance and price for many young creators. Have a look.
Canon 16-35mm f2.8 L III USM

The Canon 16-35mm is the only zoom lens on this list. It has a 0.28m close-focusing distance, 16 elements in 11 groups, and weighs 790g. The lens has a simple, straightforward forward design and is weather-sealed. As we explained, “Landscape and architecture photographers will have very little to worry about, sans dropping the lens and letting it roll down a hill. The same thing can be said for wedding photographers.” Like the build, the 16-35mm never misses a mark when it comes to focusing. You also get sharpness, true-to-life colors, and creamy bokeh. What’s not to like?
Sony Zeiss 50mm F1.4
The Sony Zeiss 50mm f1.4 is a perfect portrait lens. It comes with a 0.45m close focusing distance, and 8 elements in 5 groups with two aspherical elements. It is a large lens, measuring 72mm in length. The exterior is made of tough plastic, and it survived rain and milk splashes. The focus is at par with Sony Zeiss 35mm f1.4, and it is as fast as the 24-70mm f2.8 G Master. As we spoke about its performance, “The 11 aperture blades on the Sony Zeiss 50mm f1.4 make this lens absolutely incredible when it comes to bokeh. There isn’t a single 50mm lens with autofocus capabilities that can beat it due to this feature.” It also handles colors really well.
Nikon 105mm f1.4 E ED

The Nikon 105mm is another exceptional lens with 14 elements in 9 groups, 9 aperture blades, and a 1m close-focusing distance. Like any lens over 85mm, this one is also large, but this is weather sealed and pretty easy to use. As we added, “In our tests with the Nikon D810, the lens barely ever missed its focusing. Additionally, it’s quiet and fast to focus. These are both traits that photographers will love.” Last but not least, the performance is also amazing. You get incredible bokeh, sharp renderings, beautiful colors, everything portrait and studio photographers love.
