The rise of compact cameras has led to the revival of various models launched in the last two or so decades. While some names that many Gen Z or Gen Alpha are purchasing today were once quite popular, there are some models that were less well-known that are having a great time now. The reason for this could vary, from price to trends, or even the way they look. So, we look at Google Trends to see which companies and which models are consistently being searched within the United States over the past week. The result will certainly surprise you.
Canon IXY 650 (ELPH 360)

Canon‘s IXY 650 has been popular in the compact camera market. The device was launched in 2016, featuring a 20MP 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 4+ image processor. The camera also housed a 25-300mm 12x optical zoom lens, which helped to capture images of near and far distances. The device was designed for anyone stepping up from a phone to get their first camera, and wanted some small and compact to take along. Some other features include 1080p HD video capabilities, a 3-inch LCD, and Hybrid Auto mode that allows you to make four-second clips before you capture an image.
Nikon Coolpix SQ

Announced in 2003, the Nikon Coolpix SQ is certainly one of the interesting compact cameras. The device features a 3MP 1/2.7-inch CCD sensor and a 5.6-16.8mm (equivalent to 37-111mm) lens that can shoot macros too. The camera has a square body, which can be easily carried around, and measures 83 x 85 x 25 mm. Other features include auto mode, 15 scene modes, and AF assist lamp for low-light shoots, and a 1.5-inch 117,600-dot TFT LCD. The design indicates why the device is becoming popular again today.

Designed for people who travel a lot, the HX80 features an 18.2MP sensor, a pop-up electronic viewfinder like the RX100 III and IV, and a 30x (24-720mm) zoom lens.
