Reminder: Our App is Shutting Down

In case you missed it, this is important news. Later this month, the Phoblographer will shut down our app and continue running through the website. We made this decision after a lot of careful thought. I’ll personally admit that the interface and design are beautiful, and we’re going to begin work on an interface that makes our mobile website even better and nicer to look at. Many of you are probably also wondering about the subscription fee and all. We’re going to address everything.

The Membership Program Isn’t Going Away, It’s Evolving

First off, just because we’re getting rid of our app doesn’t mean that we’re getting rid of the membership program. Instead, it’s going to evolve. Here are the important points you need to know

  • After July 22nd, the app will no longer continue to be supported.
  • The Phoblographer membership can be purchased directly from our website instead.
  • Our price hasn’t really changed. It was $24.99/year, and now it’s $25 a year. A single penny doesn’t mean a world of difference, let’s be very honest here.
  • The membership on our website will remove all banner and display ads. Sponsored articles truly tend to be some of our most-read pieces simply because we’re a small publication with a huge audience, and we get to put more resources into those pieces. We’ve found that folks like it when they see us supported like this.
  • If you’ve purchased a membership through our app, we will honor the purchase and give you the rest of 2024 for free through our website. Please contact admins(at)thephoblographer(dot)com to get that set up.

We’re going to release more details on how to sign up for this soon. You can also keep checking our Membership page to see more info.

The Discount Program

Lots of you have had questions about our discount program. And we totally understand that. The Laowa codes haven’t worked, and quite honestly, our reps haven’t been very responsive on this.

We’re going to rebuild this entire program soon. At the moment, we’re still aware that the Capture One codes are working. So if you become a member, and can prove that to us, you’ll get the discount.

The Latest Perks

Starting in August 2024, Phoblographer members will get a 20% discount on our preset bundles for Capture One and Lightroom. You’ll just need to contact us to make that happen.
