Please Register here If you’re looking for a fun time while staying safe, we strongly recommend that you tune in for Pro Camera Reviews. It’s a weekly show where the staff tackles a couple of issues in the Photo World. They mostly pertain to cameras and lenses, but sometimes things get a bit more serious. This is partly because we still feel that we need to be educators and leaders in this space. Additionally, we also need to be responsible. Episodes are done on Zoom and are recorded. They’re then shared on YouTube. We recommend that you subscribe to us on Youtube to keep up. Tonight’s episode is going to be a special one. We talked a lot about ethics last week and now we want to remind everyone of the serious times we’re in while also providing a distraction from it. We care about your mental health, and we’d like you to sidetrack for just an hour to discuss with us how you feel about all the things we’re sharing tonight. On Sunday, June 14th
- Is Mirrorless Really Living Up to Its Purpose: A look at whether or not mirrorless cameras are living up to being smaller as a whole. We’ll look at various systems and see whether or not this is true. For those who don’t remember, the original point of mirrorless cameras was to be smaller and lighter than DSLRs. And now that DSLRs are pretty much done with, we’re looking at the progress mirrorless has made.
- Manual Mode Doesn’t Necessarily Make You a Better Photographer: Modern cameras are so advanced that they can make decisions in a fraction of a second, and that can be the difference between us getting and missing the shot, and at the end of the day, getting the shot is our job as photographers. It’s time to stop thinking that shooting in manual mode makes you a better photographer than those who choose to lean on modes such as shutter and aperture priority. We’ll discuss what these modes do, and how liberating it can be to give up just a little bit of control.
- The Age of the Superzoom: Recently there have been a few interesting superzoom lenses that have surfaced. Some are real and some are still reported to be real. We’re discussing some of these new lenses and talking about what we want from all the manufacturers.
