The new FlashBender v3 products are now out for those looking to upgrade to more portable and efficient flash accessories.
Whether your flash accessories are due for an upgrade or youâre already looking to finally invest in them, the latest iterations of the FlashBender products could be of interest. Now on their third version, these kits and tools come with improved features that should fit your indoor and outdoor flash photography needs.
The latest FlashBender line up is comprised of the Small Reflector, Large Reflector, Small Soft Box Kit, Large Soft Box Kit, and XL Pro Lighting System. These tools promise to be better than simple flash diffusers and deliver professional and portable portrait lighting for location photographers.
Reflector
The FlashBender v3 Small Reflector and Large Reflector are shapeable reflectors ideally suited for on-camera flash photography, softening the light from the flash whether shooting under a white ceiling or outdoors in open spaces. Since they can be shaped for both on-camera and off-camera flash techniques and multi-light setups, they are more efficient compared to regular diffusers. The Small Reflector is more compact and lighter compared to other FlashBenders, and both can be folded in half to pack flatly in the bag.
Soft Box Kit
Meanwhile, the FlashBender v3 Small Soft Box Kit and Large Soft Box Kit combine the Small Reflector and Large Reflector with the Rogue Small Diffusion Panel v3 and Rogue Large Diffusion Panel v3, respectively. This allows the FlashBender reflectors to be configured into lightweight softboxes for both on-camera and off-camera flash photography techniques.
As for the FlashBender v3 XL Pro Lighting Kit, itâs comprised of the XL Pro Reflector, XL Pro Diffusion Panel v3, and XL Pro Strip Grid v3 to provide professional portrait lighting in a portable package. Photographers shooting on location can use it to achieve various effects, such as softening and shaping light, filling shadows, creating or preventing lens flare, and controlling the background, accent, or hair light.
This lineup features improvements that include improved shapeability, grippier attachment strap, secure fit for all flashes, and faster attachment with quick release buckle. Other features include better bounce flash control with the reflector, softer light and directional control with the soft box. However, the hook and loop modifications on the latest FlashBender reflectors and Diffusion Panels v3 make them incompatible with previous versions of the Rogue Diffusion panels.
