Taiwanese brand Kamlan has recently unveiled two new, fast APS-C lenses for major camera mounts.
In need of some fast, bokehlicious lenses for your APS-C camera? Mirrorless Rumors gave us a heads-up that Taiwanese brand Kamlan has recently announced its two new offerings: a 50mm f1.1 II (replacing the popular previous version) and a 21mm f1.8 for Sony E, Fuji X, MFT, and Canon EOS-M mounts.
In the mobile01.com post shared by Mirrorless Rumors, we learned that Kamlan unveiled the two new lenses during the Taipei Photographic Equipment Exhibition. The company also mentioned their plans to develop Full Frame lenses for Sony E, Nikon Z, and Canon EOS-R systems.
“From optical technology, lens to lens design and assembly, all are made by Kamlan. Independently completed, because Kamlan’s current factory is located in China, many people will mistakenly think that this is a Chinese brand. In fact, the boss behind it is a native of Yilan. Next year, it will set up a factory in Yilan Science Park to supply the needs of Japanese and Taiwanese consumers. Kamlan focuses on the lens of the APS-C mirrorless interchangeable camera. In the future, it will launch the “full-frame” MILC lens. The target includes FE-Mount, Z-mount and RF-Mount, and will be edited in the future. This brand will be further introduced.”
If this is your first time hearing about the brand, Kamlan currently manufactures affordable, manual prime lenses, comprised of fisheye, wide-angle, and standard lenses. In June, 2018, the company also ran a successful Kickstarter campaign for a 28mm f1.4 lens for mirrorless cameras. An eagle-eyed Mirrorless Rumors reader also noted that both the 50mm f1.1 II and 21mm f1.8 lenses were among the new mirrorless lenses planned for release in 2018, as stated in the product road map included in the Kickstarter campaign.
