Latest Aurora HDR Update Features AI-Powered Quantum HDR Engine

Skylum Software is now taking pre-orders for the latest version of the Aurora HDR program.

If you’re doing a lot of HDR for your landscape or architectural photography projects, the latest version of Skylum Software’s Aurora HDR program could pique your interest. Pre-orders are now open for the Aurora HDR 2019, offered at $89 for new users and a limited time special price of $49 for current users who would like to upgrade. Prices will jump to $99 for new users and $59 for upgrades during its release on October 4th.

First time hearing about this program? The all-new Aurora HDR promises to enable photographers to create vivid, captivating, and dynamic HDR images through a photo editing tool that combines powerful and intelligent technology with an intuitive and seamless workflow.

Central to this update is the Quantum HDR Engine, an AI-powered, tone mapping technology that Skylum has been developing for three years. This technology analyzes multiple bracketed shots and intelligently merges them to create HDR images that are dynamic and natural-looking. For both bracketed shots and single images, the Quantum HDR Engine also reduces burned colors, loss of contrast, and noise, while also minimizing unnatural lighting due to halos and unstable deghosting.

The update utilizes a new HDR Smart Structure technology which produces precise details and sharpness in an image minus the over-the-top look due to excess artifacts. It also boasts of new LUT mapping integration to quickly render creative color toning, digital film looks, and perfect black and white conversions.

Aurora HDR 2019 has also replaced Presets with the Aurora HDR looks, along with other options for selective aesthetic choices and more refined toning. This new tool also includes textures and masks to provide an almost infinite number of editing possibilities.
