If you’re already thinking ahead and have started listing the stuff you need to start 2019 right, check out this galactic pinup calendar being funded on Kickstarter!
Next year is still several months away, but if you’re an early bird who plans to start your 2019 preparations soon, we’ve found something you might want to put on your list: a fun galactic pin-up calendar which stars everyone’s favorite sci-fi characters from a galaxy far, far away!
The Star Wars-inspired project is the brainchild of Seattle-based Ben Lucas, who does high-end commercial retouching and “epic composites” on top of wedding and portrait photography. On his Kickstarter campaign, he writes that he has been working for almost a year now “to put together the most epic, awesome, sexy and hilarious calendar with all of your favorite characters from a galaxy far, far away.” How exactly has he been working to make that happen? In his own words, by towing the line between “WOW, hot damn” and “hahaha my sides hurt from laughing.”
Looking at what he has so far as shared on the campaign, it looks like he’s on the right track to both impress and tickle the funny bones of our inner nerds all year long.
Ben plans to make a 13 month, saddle stitch, 12″x12″ pinup calendar, with 10 out of 13 photos already shot and ready for the project. He’s scheduled to do the rest of the shots this month, independent of any funding from the campaign. All the photos featured in this project are original creations, and he doesn’t make use of any existing material or stock photo. Everything we’ll see in this calendar are works of art as all the models’ costumes were custom made.
