We’ve been waiting a long time for the Olympus 17mm f1.2 PRO for a long time now.

It’s about time–Olympus is today announcing their brand new 17mm f1.2 PRO and Olympus 45mm f1.2 PRO lenses for the Micro Four Thirds system. These lenses join the 25mm f1.2 PRO lens as the fastest aperture Olympus lenses on the market. With their f1.2 aperture, they’ll have quite a bit of light gathering abilities but they’ll also have the full frame depth of field equivalence of f2.4. For something like portraiture, that’s honestly fine as it means that you’ll more or less never need to stop the lens down.

Both lenses have weather sealing and incorporate very fast focusing as only one lens element really needs to move.

The M.ZUIKO Digital ED 45mm F1.2 PRO will be available late November 2017, while the M.ZUIKO Digital ED 17mm F1.2 PRO will be available late January 2018. Both lenses will have an estimated street price of $1,199.99 USD/$1,499.99 CAD.
