The straps are made from veg-tan leather sourced from Masure, a Belgian tannery renowned for the quality since 1873, and finished with dyes, waxes, and oils sourced from both the U.S. and Britain. Each strap is secured with no compromises hardware made from solid 304-grade steel and brass.
“Photographers invest a lot in their gear but often the straps that come with the camera are lacking in quality and individual style. Almost all manufacturers of camera straps will cut corners somewhere in the name of economy, whether it’s the leather or the hardware. Cruick was built on a different ethos. We use only the absolute best materials we can source with the aim of delivering a uniquely stylish strap that will last a lifetime and take both form and function to the highest level possible.” – Grant Cruick
A Unique Kind of Backer Reward
Unlike other Kickstarters, backers will not only be the first to receive the Cruick neck straps, wrist straps, or key fobs but they’ll be to have them fully customized – giving the a truly unique and exclusive product. Early backers will be able to customize the strap length, colorway selection, design, hardware material (choose all brass or all steel or both), branding preference, and even the package design of your choice.
The Cruick Kickstarter campaign is set to run through March 9th, 2017 and unlike many other campaigns, the Cruick Straps Kickstarter isn’t taking $5/$10 contributions in return for virtual high-fives; instead backers are being asked to contribute at a slightly higher rate (approx. $20) in return for a limited edition leather key fob. As Cruick notes in his campaign’s page, you work hard for your money, you should walk away with something to show for it. We love premium straps and if you’re looking for a truly unique strap tailored to your needs, consider checking out the Cruick Ultra-Premium straps on Kickstarter.
