Landscape photography shows spaces within the world, usually vast and unending. Gustav Willeit’s landscape photography typically focuses on capturing the presence of nature at its original state, which is untouched by human intervention or modernization.
Gustav Willeit’s photo project “Natu.Rae” conveys the impression that our planet earth was still a virgin, newly created and being crude. For example, a breathtaking scenery of untouched mountain ranges with barren and wide cloudy skies evoke the feeling that nature is at its most beautiful state without any trace of human interference. Gustav successfully captures the sense of awe that a man feels when he is faced with the greatness of nature – when it shows its more peaceful side, but even more so when unleashing its dreadful forces, making each and every one of us feel our smallness and extreme frailty.
