According to recent reports, Fujifilm is set to unveil a medium format camera on September 19 at Photokina. The camera comes off the successful release of their Fujifilm X-T2 and would be Fuji’s first foray into the digital medium format space.
In truth, the likelihood of this is very, very possible considering an interview that the company gave to BJP a while back.
The alleged info and specs for the camera include:
– 50 megapixels
– No X-Trans Sensor
– A mirrorless design with interchangeable lenses
– Will be launched alongside 3 all-new lenses
– More affordable than Hasselblad’s X1D offering
– A release date of 2017
Fujifilm’s press conference is scheduled for 5PM Berlin Time – 11AM New York Time. You can view the official Photokina Press Conference schedule here.
