“I wanted to show the good side of alcohol because everybody always shows the dark side of it.” says photographer Marcos Alberti about his viral photo project depicting people after they’ve drank a couple glasses of wine. “It means, in a good environment, with friends, with moderation, alcohol could be a good tool for celebration. They all became relaxed, start to laugh more, even the shy guys become comfortable in front of my camera, most of them are not used to being in front of a camera.”
For Marcos, the idea started when he invited friends over after work at around 8pm. He started by purposely not making his compadres comfortable with the environment and taking a portrait of them pretty much right away. Then he gave them wine: the nectar of the gods.
The project was done over a period of one month and six nights. “nd I always manage to mix different circles of friends in the same day, it was very funny to see how they interact before and after wine.”
“When I was in University, studying architecture, I started to study photography too, as a hobby. says Marco about how he fell in love with photography; and continues to state that he decided to work in a studio as an assistant for one month during a college vacation. “After college I worked as an assistant for 3 years, and then I made my own studio, 15 years ago. I started making fashion catalogs and small campaigns for small clients.” When 2010 came along, Marco started working with big agencies and clients.
