Today, photo enthusiasts are getting the brand new Epson SureColor P400–and for $599 they’ll be able to create very high grade prints at home.
The printer eight Epson UltraChrome HG2 pigment ink cartridges, has dedicated channels for both Matte and PHoto black and even has specific red and orange inks. Epson is touting exhibition quality prints with the look and feel of the results that a professional lab can deliver. Of course, that still doesn’t mean that the person printing has to best printing calibration knowledge.
Epson is saying that the SureColor P400 is intuitive to work with; may be important to the folks who want to print a bit larger than normal. The printer can deliver borderless photos up to 13”x19” on a wide variety of glossy, matte and fine art papers, while also allowing better roll paper support than was previously available. On top of all that, if you’re old school and still want to print onto CD/DVDs, the SureColor P400 will let you do that.
Best of all, it works wirelessly–which means no big need for a jungle of cables to be behind your desk.
