Olympus is slated to release the Stylus SH-2, its successor to the Stylus SH-1. Like the SH-1 before it, the SH-2 something of a compact superzoom wunderkind with its 24x optical zoom, which is a 35mm-equivalent 25-600mm focal range. It also comes with 5-axis image stabilization, a function that lit up the blogosphere when the Sony a7II was on the rise, the SH-1 has the OMD-EM1 as its basis for that. It has a 16MP 1/2.3″ sensor as well as built-in wi-fi and HD video. On paper at least, it looks like it’ll be a swell choice for enthusiasts, travelers and street shooters.
It’s a premium compact for a not-so-premium price at $399.99. It will be available in black and silver in April. Head on for a full spec list and image samples.
