A couple of days ago,Tokina announced a brand new 11-20mm f2.8 zoom lens for APS-CDSLRs. The new lens has 9 aperture blades, 14 elements in 12 groups, an 82mm front filter thread, and can render a field of view of a 16.5-30mm lens on a Nikon DSLR and 17.6-32mm on a Canon DSLR due to the 1.5x and 1.6x crop factors accordingly. According to the description, “A multi-layer lens coating has also been applied to further enhance overall light transmission and color accuracy by suppressing lens flare and ghosting.”
B&H Photo has them available for pre-order in both Canon and Nikon mounts for $599. The Tokina AT-X 11-20mm f/2.8 PRO DX Lens is expected to ship early next month. More tech specs are after the jump.
