Photographers, both new and veteran pros, can fall into the trap of taking the same image over and over again. While we might not notice this, DigitalRev has shot a new video highlighting 25 of the most obnoxious photo clichés. It’s a bit tongue-in-cheek starting off with annoyances like watermarked images and signing photos as if they were paintings. But most of the video highlights images we’ve all shot a bajillion times including golden hour skies, homeless people, or any mundane scene snapped with a Dutch (or German if you will) tilt.
It’s an enlightening watch that might make you realize what photo clichés you’re guilty of. That’s not to say you should hang up your camera, instead venture out of your comfort zone.
If you’ve been shooting images at home only, go out and try your hand at street photography. Do more portraits if there are none in your portfolio, or shoot a long exposure of something that’s not a waterfall or moving cars at night. There’s no lack of moments out in the world to capture.
See the video after the jump.
