We thought Samsung might have been all out of cameras with its DSLR-styled NX30 and the miniature NX Mini. But now the Korean electronics firm has announced a new NX3000 mirrorless camera featuring a 20.3MP APS-C format CMOS sensor.
Sitting between the bulky NX300 and the super petite NX Mini, the NX3000 has a smaller body that fits inline with Canon’s EOS M and the Nikon V3. While the camera has a similar 20.3MP sensor as its older NX300 brother, the NX3000 has adopted the NX mini flip up screen for taking selfies. What’s more the NX3000 has a new feature called “Wink Shot,”which allows you to have the camera take selife for you by winking at at it. When you’re done admiring yourself, you might notice the back LCD is a gorgeous 460,800-dot IPS screen.
Overall the NX3000 is a slight step down from the NX300 with a slower maximum shutter speed of 1/4,000 of a second and only 5fps. Still, that more than enough to let shooters keep up with bigger entry-level DSLRs such as the Canon SL1 and Nikon D3300. As ever, this Samsung camera has Wi-Fi built-in, which will let photographers easily pair the camera with their smartphones to edit images
The Samsung NX3000 hits shelves on June 1st and will be available in black, brown, and white. The camera will come kitted with the 20-50mm f3.5-5.6 ED II lens and SEF-8 flash unit for $479. Alternatively, for $529 the kit includes a 16-50mm f3.5-5.6 OIS Power Zoom lens plus the same attachable flash. Check past the jump for even more images and specs.
