Would you believe that a rebadged Sony NEX 7 with special wood on it went for a lot of money? We’re not talking about a couple thousand, we mean tens of thousands. According to a new Hasselblad press release, two photo enthusiasts at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance exotic car festival started to bid heavily against each other for a camera. The bid got up to $28,000 from the standard price of around $6,995. The two were determined to outdo one another and so an extra camera was thrown into the mix: both sold for a combined $54,500.
The press release states that the money is going to charity, but we’re not sure which one. Additionally, if one just wanted to donate money to a charity they surely could.
Not much information is being given out otherwise, but you have to agree that it’s a bit ridiculous.
