A few weeks back we got our first look at a sexy new Nikon 1 Series camera and now we’ve got the specs for the proposed camera. Nikon Rumors reports the camera in the patent is actually a new 18MP Nikon 1 V3. One of the big changes could be moving the electronic viewfinder from being part of the camera to an optional unit. The EVF is also getting a nice bump up to 2.44MP screen, whereas the Nikon 1 V2 came with a 1.44MP display. The potentially optional unit could also include a proximity senor to automatically switch between the LCD and EVF.
Below the EVF, the Nikon 1 V3 is reported to feature a 180-degree swiveling LCD screen. As we saw in the patent drawing, the new Nikon 1 V3 seems to be targeting higher-end users and the details reveal there could be a new battery grip on its way. Additionally we might see a new version of the Nikkor 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 PD VR zoom lens that will be announced in the next month or two along with the Nikon 1 V3.
