The iPhone 6 isn’t the only new smartphone that’s rumored to have some extremely killer camera specs. Xperia Guide reports, Sony is also set to unveil a new flagship smartphone Xperia “Sirius” D6503 that could come with 4K video recording. Supposedly the handset also known as Xperia Z2 will feature a 20.7MP camera that can record Ultra HD footage on top of full HD movies in 1080p and 60fps. The buck does not stop there; a supposed “timeshift video” feature will allow users to record video at a high frame-rate and apply slow motion effects.
The Xperia Z2 will also be able to shoot 5248 x 3936 resolution still photos. Purported Xperia Z2 screenshots revealed various camera-related apps and among these the Creative Effect Camera app might add more effects and filters like Instagram or those hated scene modes on Point and Shoots.
The extreme sensor is the same one we’ve already seen on Xperia Z1 with some indiscernible upgrades. While it’s high 20.7MP sensor rivals the megapixel count of some DLSR cameras, it’s not to insane level as with the 41MP Nokia Lumia 1020. As for the rest of the specs, the Xperia Sirius is said to come with a 5.2” 1080p screen, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, and 3 GB of RAM.
