Tokina demonstrated a brand new rain-dispersion filter recently–and it’s bound to help videographers and perhaps even photographers that need to work in wetter situations. The technology (or coating) behind it is really quite amazing. In the video below, you’ll see them spray it with water and the water will just drip downward–not even affecting the viewing experience.
While some folks complain about using filters to begin with, the quality of the optics over the past couple of years has dramatically improved and there really is no need to complain if you purchase a good filter.
Now we’re just wondering if any first party lens makers will try to create the same coating.
