Lots of third party lens manufacturers are ramping up their services as of late. And in an extremely interesting move just made by Tamron, the company is now promising a three business day return on a repair of your lens. As long as the lens is received by 12PM EST (because the company is based on Long Island, NY) it will adhere to this announcement. According to them, “Lenses under warranty (Tamron USA offers a 6-year limited warranty on its photographic lenses) are repaired and shipped back to the customer within three business days. Out of warranty lenses are repaired and shipped back within three business days of the customer’s approval of the repair estimate.”

For a customer, this is great news. It has taken me sometimes more than a week for some of my other items to come back like flashes–granted those are from other companies.

Tamron’s quality is also quite stellar. Check out our reviews of their new 90mm f2.8 VC and their 70-200mm f2.8 VC.
