It’s amazing what’s capable with the iPhone, we reported on a patent before allowing the phone to triggers others off but now a new app can do that for you. It’s called External Flash, and it allows you to connect to the phones that your friends have to trigger their flashes to go off. While your flash is the master, it can control up to 16 other slave phones. When you shoot the image, it is then shared between all of the according phones.
With this in mind though one has to think about light metering. And unfortunately for the iPhone crowd, there is no TTL integration and it just blasts all the flashes at full output. That means you’ll probably need some sort of lighting modifier.
The app is totally free, and you can get your strobism on right now. A demo video is after the jump.
