I’ve never heard of the company Jackar and it seems that this is the best lens that has been released under their branding to date. There are a few odd wide angle adapters on the site as well as a 500mm mirror lens but which company doesn’t have those? They are announcing a 34mm f1.8 lens and appears to be styled very similar to the high end Olympus primes. Their site mentions it being well made, wear resistant and “entirely made of alloy”. Unlike the previously mentioned Olympus lenses this particular lens only works in manual focus, they do provide tutorials on how to manual focus with a few MFT cameras, NEX cameras have peaking.
The lens is going to be sold with a hood and leather pouch for $190. A joke was made that since these items are included then the lens must be worth 10 dollars, it was a jab that these items are usually sold at high costs as optional purchases and not included. Image samples and pictures of the hood and leather pouch can be found after the break.
It seems like they did it right and got the styling done properly. I really hope they continue to give the undisrupted cheap lens champion Rokinon some competition. Here are a couple of samples from the lens, you can find more here. A lot of images on the site are stylized but you can tell that the lens appears to be very sharp but without large images its a bit hard to tell, sorry peepers.
In case you missed it more information can be found on the lens here.
