by Peter Walkowiak on 09/18/2012

After a busy busy day this is the icing on the cake, Fujifilm has released the 2.0 firmware for their X-Pro1 Camera. In case you forgot the big highlights of the update they are: improved autofocus, better manual focus control and speed improvements when it comes to the camera processing the files.

The press release of the update cane be found here and the actual firmware can be acquired here. Also don’t forget to update the firmware in all of your lenses, that can be found here.

2.0 loaded fine for me but the lens update is giving me “no new update found” and i’ve downloaded the new lens sw 1.01 (supposedly). anyone else having this issue?

I had that same issue initially. I switched browsers (Safari to Firefox) and it worked fine after that. Not sure if that’s what fixed it, but I’m good now.

yeah i cant get it to work either. its a little bigger file then what it says and then when i put it in the camera it says “new firmware not be found”. the last firmware i put on it worked just fine…

To install the firmware you have to follow the directions exactly. This isn’t easy because they are in user-hostile Japanese English. In particular, before you install EACH firmware component (like for a lens) you have to check the software versions (with an empty formatted SD card in the camera) and turn the camera off — then re- insert the SD card , now with the new firmware component on it (eg, FXUP0002), and install the new component following the many steps indicated.
